On Monday, June 22, in the Supreme “court” of the occupied Crimea, the first hearing on the “case” filed against Refat Chubarov was held, but in fact it did not take place, since the presiding judge, Sergei Pogrebnyak, barely opened the court hearing and explained the rules to the participants of the trial, immediately self-recused. This was reported by the lawyer Nikolai Polozov via his Facebook page.
“Today’s meeting also did not take place. Judge Sergei Pogrebnyak, the presiding judge of the three judges, barely opened the court session and explained the rules to the participants of the trial, immediately recused himself. He motivated this by taking part in the consideration of the case of Akhtem Chiyhoz as a judge of the appellate court , and in the case against Mustafa Dehermendzhi, Ali Asanov and others, made a desicion to change the jurisdiction,"- the statement said.
It is noted that the parties did not object to the recusation of Judge Pogrebnyak and the two other judges, having conferred, decided to satisfy it. Now a new composition of the court will be formed, and the new date of the next court hearing is unknown yet.
