International lawyer Bogdan Ustimenko emphasized that the marine “creeping” occupation does not stop, since the Russian Federation continues to impede navigation in Ukrainian waters and the Kerch Strait, which violates the numerous provisions of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. He stated this via his Facebook page.
"The Russian Federation does not allow Ukraine to gas and oil deposits, as well as fish resources located within the occupied part of the Ukrainian sector of the Black and Azov Seas. Russia laid submarine power cables, built the Kerch bridge and an underwater gas pipeline through the Kerch Strait from the territory of the Russian Federation to the Crimean Peninsula without the consent of our state," – the message said.
The lawyer emphasized that Russia impedes navigation in Ukrainian waters and in the Kerch Strait, which violates the numerous provisions of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, and the "marine creeping "occupation does not stop."
