The prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea said that the ex-judge of the Saky City District Court of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, who after annexation went to the service of the illegally created judicial authorities of the occupying state, will face trial for treason. The so-called judge faces up to 15 years in prison.
“The investigation established that a citizen of Ukraine, being a judge of the Saky City District Court of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, after the occupation of the peninsula in 2014, changed the oath of allegiance to the people of Ukraine, joining the service in the illegally created judicial bodies of the occupying state”,- the statement said.
It is noted that the judge was directly involved in the formation and organization of the occupation courts, thus contributing to the occupation of the peninsula, ensuring the establishment and strengthening of the occupation administration and assisting Russia in carrying out subversive activities against Ukraine.
