June 16, 2020

On Monday, June 15, the Office of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation carried out investigative actions against the Crimean Tatar Ruslan Bekirov, against whom a so-called case” was instituted under Part 1 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code (“False evidence”). It is reported by the Crimean Solidarity public association.

“We believe that this is absolutely unreasonable and the persecution of Ruslan is illegal. And this is done as an edification and to intimidate everyone to sign the false evidence documents without even reading them”,- said lawyer Emil Kurbedinov.

We remind that on June 11, Russian security forces in the village of Orlyne in the occupied Crimea detained the Crimean Tatar Ruslan Bekirov. A so-called case under Part 1 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code (“False evidence”) was instituted against him and and later he was released from the FSB building on his own recognizance.
