Russia Day – Occupant’s Day: activists creatively reminded the whole world that Russia is an occupant (photo)

On Friday, June 12, at the Russian Embassy in Kyiv, a peaceful rally “Russia Day – Occupant’s Day” took place, at which activists creatively reminded the whole world that Russia is an occupant. The embassy building was illuminated by images in different languages of the world criticizing the aggressive foreign policy of the Russian Federation.

According to the organizers – NGO Corps of Justice, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center and the international movement #LIBERATECRIMEA, the rally was aimed at attracting public attention to the ongoing aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

"We held the rally “Russia Day – Occupant's Day”, in which we illuminated the embassy building, with reminders that Russia is an occupant, in different languages of the world. More than 190 people are political prisoners and persecuted in criminal cases, more than 50 people died during the occupation period, more than 180 children in Crimea were left without fathers, and 18 people forcibly disappeared, more than 13 thousand Ukrainians of different ethnic origin were killed in the east of Ukraine. Happy Occupant's Day!”,- wrote on his page the Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, a member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Eskender Bariiev.
