The international human rights organization Amnesty International has strongly protested the Russian verdict on political prisoner Artem Gerasimov, who was imprisoned for six years. This was reported via the organization’s website.
“Artem Gerasimov and all the other Jehovah's Witnesses, deprived of their liberty solely for the peaceful exercise of their right to freedom of religion and belief, are prisoners of conscience. They must be immediately and unconditionally released, their sentences canceled, and all charges against them dropped”,- the message says.
We remind that in March 2019 in Yalta, FSB officers searched people suspected of participating in the religious organization Jehovah's Witnesses, banned in Russia. A criminal case was opened against a 34-year-old resident of Yalta, Artem Gerasimov .
