The process of the next mutual prisoner release has slowed down – Yermak

June 4, 2020

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak, at a meeting with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas in Berlin, said that the process of the next mutual prisoner release was slowed down due to the failure of the Russian Federation to agree to the Normandy Format summit in Paris.

“We noted progress in the release of prisoners. However, the movement towards the next mutual release is unfortunately still inhibited. And we are hampered not only by the coronavirus epidemic, but also by the specific non-fulfillment by the other side of the agreement of the Normandy Format summit in Paris on the admission of representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross to the places of detention of hostages in the temporarily occupied territories”,- said Andrii Yermak.
