Crimean swimmer Sofyanyk left the territory of the occupied peninsula

June 3, 2020

Former dissident Oleh Sofyanyk managed to leave the occupied peninsula. At the moment, he is already on the mainland of Ukraine. This was reported by Anton Korynevych, Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine to the ARC, via his Facebook page.

“Oleh Sofyanyk, a citizen of Ukraine, is located on the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government”,- the statement said.

Sofyanyk told Crimea.Realities media agency that the FSB of Russia banned his entry into the annexed Crimea without any explanation.

We remind that on November 15, 2020, the Russian security forces detained swimmer Oleh Sofyanyk on the administrative border with the occupied Crimea, as Oleh himself believed, thus the Russian security forces “hinted that I left the peninsula.” After this incident, he was repeatedly not allowed to leave the occupied Crimea.
