On Monday, May 18, the participants of the Russian Strategy-18 initiative held single pickets in Russia for the de-occupation of Crimea and in support of Crimean Tatars. They unfurled posters with the inscriptions: “No to the Crimean Tatar genocide”, “Week of solidarity with the Crimean Tatar people”, “Hybrid deportation – a new genocide against Crimean Tatars”, “Never again”, “Krym – tse Ukrayina (Ukrainian: Crimea is Ukraine)” and others. The correspodning photo report was published via the Facebook page of the protesters.
"Strategy-18 in conditions of self-isolation. The project is ongoing. We support the Crimean Tatars. They have the right to defend their point of view, their faith, their homeland. They have the right to be themselves. They have been fighting for this right for decades”,- the report said..
“Now there is no mass expulsion of Crimean Tatars from Crimea, but there is extrusion of indigenous people from the peninsula. Searches, arrests, courts with terrible sentences, terrorism charges in the absence of terrorist attacks are ethnic persecution, this is a crime”.- the activists emphasized.
