The head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov has published a number of memorial events dedicated to the commemoration of the 76th anniversary of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people, which will be held in Ukraine, including the temporarily occupied Crimea, and in other countries of the world. He announced this via his Facebook page.
“It is clear that the restrictive measures taken due to the COVID-19 pandemic both in Ukraine and in other states have significantly changed the nature and forms of memorial events held before and on May 18. But one thing is certain, Crimean Tatars always, even in the most hopeless years of exile and the curfew did not betray the memory of the victims of deportation, did not stop for a minute in their struggle to return to their homeland”,- the message said.
