May 8, 2020

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemned the placement in the center of Sevastopol a portrait of the Soviet leader Joseph Stalin on the eve of May 9, as he contributed to the deportation of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

" In 1944, his regime (Stalin-KR) carried out mass ethnic cleansing – within three days more than 190 thousand Crimean Tatars were deported  in cattle waggons  to Asia. Many died on the way. Russia never loses a chance to offend the local population",  – the statement said.
