In March 2020, the average duration of artificial retention by the Russian Federation of vessels going from the Black Sea to Ukrainian ports was 31 hours. This was announced by the head of the Monitoring Group of the Institute of Black Sea Strategic Studies, Maidan of Foreign Affairs, the editor-in-chief of BlackSeaNews Andrii Klymenko via his Facebook page.

In March 2020, the average duration of artificial retention by the Russian Federation of vessels going from the Black Sea to the Ukrainian ports of the Sea of Azov – Mariupol, Berdiansk, was 31 hours, and from Mariupol, Berdiansk with export cargo it lasted for 34.7 hours.

“According to the Monitoring Group, in April-May 2020, these indicators cannot be ruled out as an “asymmetric reaction” of the Russian Federation to the visit of the President of Ukraine on 11.04.2020 to the Berdiansk port to review the development of infrastructure facilities of the Vostok naval base of the Ukrainian Navy, which is being created for strengthening the protection of Ukrainian shipping in the Sea of Azov”,- the report said.
