On Friday, May 1, Ukrainian border guards refused to let 11 Crimeans into mainland Ukraine, despite the fact that they had humanitarian needs. Only three were allowed in, and the rest were forced to return to the occupied peninsula. This was reported by activist Mykhailo Batrak via his Facebook page.

The activist reports that a citizen of Ukraine Nariman Aliiev was not allowed to enter mainland Ukraine through Chaplynka checkpoint, his pregnant girlfriend is waiting for him and requires his care, about which he has a certificate that he presented to the border guards. At the Kalanchak checkpoint there are about 10 Ukrainian citizens with Crimean registration who are also not allowed to pass.

“Yesterday, Nariman Aliiev has passed through Chaplynka checkpoint. Two more citizens were let in at Kalanchak checkpoint, the others were refused, they returned to the occupied peninsula”,- Mykhailo said.
