April 30, 2020

On Wednesday, April 29, the so-called Kyiv District Court of Simferopol extended the detention terms of the so-called third Bakhchisaray Hizb ut-Tahrir case defendants. Seytumer Seytumerov, Osman Seytumerov and Rustem Seytmemetov will remain under arrest until August 9, 2020. It was reported by the Crimean solidarity public association.

“The investigator filed a document to extend the preventive measure for three months, substantiating this by the fact that the guys are charged with a particularly serious crime, that they can hide from the investigation, can influence witnesses, they can destroy evidence. However, he did not bring any actual evidence. Only his assumptions”,- said lawyer Semedlyaev.

It is noted that at this court session all the defendants expressed a silent protest, since they understood that the fate of the request for an extension of the arrest was already predetermined.

We remind that on March 11, Russian security officials raided the dwellings of Crimean Tatars in Bakhchisaray and the Bakhchisaray district. Searches were conducted in the dwellings of Seytumer Seytumerov, Shukri Seytumerov, Amet Suleymanov, Seydamet Mustafayev, Rustem Seitmemetov, Ayder Suleymanov and Seytumer Seytumerov. The activists were detained. On March 12, the so-called Kyiv District Court of Simferopol sent Amet Suleymanov under house arrest. On March 13, the so-called Kyiv District Court chose a measure of restraint in the so-called third Bakhchisaray Hizb ut-Tahrir case in the form of detention.
