After the occupation of Crimea by the Russian Federation, human rights violations became regular on the peninsula. The occupants, ignoring the resolutions and decisions of authoritative international organizations, persecute people on ethnic and religious grounds, as well as because of political beliefs. According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, 26 people outside the occupied Crimea are being prosecuted for criminal “cases”. 20 of them are the representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people.

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center considers such actions as suppression of the non-violent struggle of the Crimean Tatars and their protest against the occupation of Crimea. The Crimean Tatar Resource Center once again calls on the international community, international human rights organizations to increase pressure on the Russian Federation and the occupation authorities of Crimea in order to stop political persecution.
We remind that the Crimean Tatar Resource Center on its website classified and developed clickable diagrams “Victims of the occupation of Crimea”, which constantly display the actual number of political prisoners, missing and killed people during the occupation period of Crimea.
