The Crimean Prosecutor’s Office sent indictments to the court against two MPs who contributed to the occupation of the peninsula. They adopted a number of illegal documents, supporting the illegal decisions of the Verkhovna Rada of the ARC on holding a so-called referendum. This was reported by the press service of the department.
“The investigation found that in 2014 these deputies adopted a number of illegal documents, supporting the illegal decisions of the Verkhovna Rada of the ARC on holding a so-called referendum, which in turn, was used by Russia in an attempt to legitimize the occupation of the territory of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as their illegal entry into the Russian Federation on the rights of the subject of the federation”,- the statement claimed.
It is noted that by their actions the accused damaged the sovereignty, territorial integrity and border inviolability of Ukraine, helped the Russian Federation to occupy the island. MPs are facing a sentence of imprisonment for the term of twelve to fifteen years.
