In the context of the coronavirus the Russian Federation does not stop the militarization of Crimea – Ministry of Integration

April 27, 2020

The Ministry of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine stated that in the context of the coronavirus pandemic the Russian Federation does not stop the militarization of the occupied Crimea, thereby creating risks for the civilian population. This was reported by the press service of the department.

It is noted that in the context of the deteriorating epidemiological situation and the incidence of coronavirus in the territories of Crimea and Sevastopol temporarily occupied by Russia, units of the occupation forces of the Russian Federation do not stop their activities, which creates risks for the civilian population .

“An outbreak in an occupying military contingent where it is impossible to maintain a self-isolation regime can overload not only military hospitals, but also conventional hospitals, some of which are already closed due to coronavirus. Ordinary citizens will not receive proper help, which can lead to serious humanitarian consequences”,- the report said.

The ministry emphasizes that this is an absolutely irresponsible attitude of the Russian Federation as an occupying state to its duties. Instead of propaganda actions from the transfer of parts of the Russian NBC Protection Troops to occupied Abkhazia, the activity of the occupying forces in Crimea should be stopped.
