The FSB of the Russian Federation again refused to let swimmer, former dissident Oleh Sofyanik to leave the occupied peninsula for mainland Ukraine, as the presence of imposed Russian citizenship does not allow them to let people out of Crimea. This was reported by the Crimea.Realities media agency.
It is noted that in the morning of April 27 Oleh Sofyanik arrived at the Russian checkpoint Dzhankoy on the Crimean administrative border with the Kherson region.
“The border guards immediately said that they already knew me and that having a Russian passport did not allow me to leave Crimea. They explicitly refused to provide a written answer about why I should not leave Crimea. They verbally referred to a government decree that restricts entry for an indefinite period of time and departure from Russia to citizens of the Russian Federation”,- he said.
They explained to Sofyanik that he could only leave the territory of Crimea if he abandoned Russian citizenship.
We remind that on November 15, 2020, the Russian security forces detained swimmer Oleh Sofyanik on the administrative border with the occupied Crimea, as Oleh himself believed, thus the Russian security forces “hinted that I should leave the peninsula.”
