Crimea was marked as a part of the Russian Federation in the Estonian textbooks

The Congress of Ukrainians of Estonia sent a letter to the Ministry of Education of the Estonian Republic in due to the fact that in school textbooks on the map of Europe Crimea was marked as part of the Russian Federation. The publisher, which released these books, apologized for the negligence and said that the firm would most likely release new books. This was reported via the congress page on Facebook.

“The Congress of Ukrainians of Estonia has sent a letter to the Ministry of Education of the Estonian Republic regarding the unfortunate fact that is taking place in the school system of Estonia. Namely: in a school textbook on the map of Europe, Crimea was marked as part of the Russian Federation. Copies of the letter were also sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the ER, the Ministry of Culture of the ER, the Parliament (the speaker and the chairman of the parliamentary group Estonia-Ukraine)”,- the message claimed.

It is noted that the Congress of Ukrainians of Estonia has not yet received a response from the Ministry of Education in its response to this issue. However, the publisher who published these textbooks apologized for the negligence.

“A spokesman for the publisher said that the firm may have to release new textbooks. Fake maps will be removed from schools”,- the Congress added.
