The US Embassy in Ukraine condemns Russia’s conscription of residents of Crimea and calls on the occupying country to stop human rights abuses on the peninsula. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Embassy.
"We join Ukrainian MFA in condemning Russia's conscription of residents of Crimea. Crimea is Ukraine, and Russia continues to Russia continues to flagrantly violate international norms. We call on Russia to immediately & fully withdraw from Ukrainian territory & to stop its human rights abuses in Crimea", – says the message.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemned Russia's conscription of residents of annexed Crimea of another draft for military service in the annexed Crimea and demanded from Russian Federation to ensure unconditional fulfillment of its international obligations as an occupying state.
