41 Ukrainian citizens prosecuted for participation in Noman Chelebidzhikhan battalion

Since 2014, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center has recorded at least 41 detentions on charges of participation in the voluntary battalion named after Noman Celebidzhikhan: 17 in theoccupied Crimea, 24 in the occupied Kherson region after February 24, 2022.

People detained in the occupied Crimea:

  7. Ibraim Asanov (detained – on January 17, 2023)
  8. a resident of Sevastopol on January 25, 2023

During the period of full-scale war in Ukraine, we recorded 24 arrests of Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians on the territory of the occupied Kherson region:

  1. On March 4, 2022, Nasrulla Seidaliiev, a resident of Rykovo settlement, deputy chairman of the Kherson Regional Mejlis of Crimean Tatars, was arrested
  2. On March 31, 2022, Rustem Gugurik, a resident of Novoalekseevka, was arrested.
  3. On April 9, 2022, Arsen Ibraimov, a resident of Kherson, was arrested
  4. On April 11, 2022, Artur Mametshaev, a resident of Genichesk, was arrested
  5. On April 14, 2022, a Crimean Tatar Rustem Osmanov was arrested.
  6. On May 20, 2022, Ruslan Abdurakhmanov, a resident of Azovskoe village, was arrested.
  7. On May 25, 2022, Aider Umerov, a resident of Partizany village, Genichesk district, was arrested on May 25, 2022.
  8. On June 5, 2022, Memet Dolgopolov, a resident of Kherson region, was arrested.
  9. On June 18, 2022, Kostyantyn Tereshchenko, a resident of Novoalekseevka village, Kherson region, was arrested.
  10. On July 21, 2022, a resident of Salkovo village , Genichesk district, Ihor Khalilov was arrested.
  11. On July 22, 2022 a resident of Genichesk, Oleksiy Kiselev was arrested
  12. On July 2022, a resident of Novoalekseevka, Serhiy Gudym, was arrested.
  13. On August 12, a Crimean Tatar Akim Gafarov, a resident of Genichesk, was arrested
  14. In August, a Crimean Tatar Khalil Ametov, a resident of Kherson region, was arrested.
  15. In August, Crimean Tatar Mamed Mustafayev, a resident of Kherson region, was arrested.
  16. On March 16, a Crimean Tatar Rustem Virati was arrested in Novoalekseevka.

  21. On November 1, Khalil Kurtametov, a resident of Novoalekseevka, a Crimean Tatar was detained
  22. On March 7, in Kherson region, the occupants detained Gennadiy Osmak, who before the full-scale invasion, according to the Russians, worked as a journalist and popularized the battalion named after “Noman Chelebidzhikhan”.
  23. On March 11, a 55-year-old Crimean Tatar was detained in Genichesk, Kherson region.
  24. On March 27, a resident of Rykovo village of Kherson region, Bilyal Abdurakhmanov, was detained in Genichesk, Kherson region. All these people are accused of participation in the volunteer battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan.Let us recall that on June 1, 2022 the Supreme Court of Russia satisfied the claim of the Prosecutor General’s Office to recognize the Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan as a terrorist organization and ban its activities on the territory of the Russian Federation.
