March 23, 2020

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba in an interview with Radio Liberty said that the fate of political prisoners has always been top priority for the president and remains the same, so the issue of exchanging the political prisoners has not been paused, despite the COVID-19 epidemic.

“This issue has not been paused. We are working on an exchange. The President’s office is working and the Ministry of Reintegration is working to ensure that the exchange does take place. Of course, additional epidemiological, quarantine measures must be taken to do this. But the fate of people, the fate of the political prisoners has always been top priority for the president and remains the same. Therefore, not even coronavirus is able to reverse or slow down our efforts to return our citizens from captivity and illegal detention”,- the minister said.
