Crimean Tatar Resource Center has prepared the chronicle of events and violations in Crimea over January 2017. More than 50 offenses were recorded in the first month of the year.
The first chronicle of events and violations in Crimea was published exactly one year ago. 13 offences were recorded in January 2016. The dynamics of crime growth rate on peninsula was gathering pace in the following months. In August 2016, a record number of violations was registered since the beginning of 2016 – more than 100. According to this analysis, it can be argued that all offences in Crimea carried out by the occupation authorities are of political nature. The dynamics of growth of repressions in Crimea is connected with the activities of the Crimean Tatar national movement or historical dates traditionally celebrated by Crimean Tatars. These repressive actions are aimed at intimidating people and preventing them from organising public events for the purpose of displacing indigenous Crimean Tatar people from Crimea.
