In 2019, 33 political prisoners of Crimea were sentenced – CTRC

In 2019, the occupation courts of Crimea and courts on the territory of the Russian Federation issued 33 verdicts against political prisoners of Crimea in criminal “cases”, usually politically motivated. According to experts of the CTRC, these decisions are illegal, politically motivated and criminal. This is stated in the analysis of human rights violations in Crimea for 2019 of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center.

In 2019, the criminal sentence was announced:

– to the 4 defendants in the so-called “Tablighi Jamaat case” – Renat Suleymanov, Talyat Abdurakhmanov, Seyran Mustafayev and Arsen Kubedinov (one of the defendants was sentenced to 4 years, three were sentenced to 2.6 years of probation);

– 5 defendants  in the so-called Simferopol “Hizb ut-Tahrir case” – Teymur Abdullaev, Rustem Ismailov, Uzeir Abdullaev, Ayder Saledinov and Emil Dzhemadenov (terms from 12 to 17 years);

– 6 defendants in the so-called Yalta “Hizb ut-Tahrir affair case” – Muslim Aliev, Enver Bekirov, Emir-Huseyn Kuku, Vadim Siruk, Refat Alimov and Arsen Dzhepparov (terms from 7 to 19 years);

– defendant of the so-called “Hizb ut-Tahrir case” Enver Seitosmanov (17 years);

– Fevzi Sagandzhi (10.5 years) on charges of “participation in the activities of an illegal armed group in Ukraine”;

– Edem Kadyrov (4 years) for allegedly “participating in the Noman Çelebicihan volunteer battalion”;

– Dilyaver Gafarov (10 years) on charges of “participation in an illegal armed formation" under Part 2 of Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

– Former Ukrainian military Dmytro Dolgopolov (10 years) and his partner Anna Sukhonosova (9 years) for allegedly extraditing state secrets;

– Defendants in the so called “case of Ukrainian saboteurs” – to Vladimir Dudka and Oleksiy Bessarabov (14 years old);

– Konstantin Davydenko (10.5 years) for alleged espionage in favor of Kyiv.

– Left activist Evgeniy Karakashev (6 years old) on charges of “public calls for terrorist activities” for correspondence in the VK chat;

– Activist Valerii Bolshakov (2.6 years of probation) on charges of “public calls for extremist activities” due to publication on VK;

– to a civic journalist Nariman Memedeminov (2.6 years in a penal colony) on charges of “public calls for terrorist activities”.

– 16-year-old Abduraman Abduveliev (6 months) for alleged abuse of the state flag of the Russian Federation;

– Maksym Sokurenko (6 months in a penal colony) for painting a monument to “polite people” in the center of Simferopol;

– defendants of the so-called “Veciye Kaşka case” – Bekir Dehermendzhi, Ruslan Trubach, Kyazim Amietov and Asan Chapukh (three individuals sentenced to 3 years of probation, one – to 3.6 years).
