2019 was a record year for the number of new political prisoners and persecuted Crimea – CTRC

After the occupation of Crimea, the Russian Federation began mass detentions and arrests on the peninsula. Most of these cases were directed against dissent and anyone who disagrees with Russia’s illegal actions on the peninsula. The number of people deprived of their liberty in politically-motivated cases continues to grow every year. According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, in 2019, 43 people were taken into custody, 39 of whom were the representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people.

1. The so-called Simferopol "Hizb ut-Tahrir case" deteinees – Tofik Abdulgaziev, Izzet Abdullaev, Vladlen Abdulkadyrov, Medzhit Abdurakhmanov Belyal Adilov, Enver Ametov, Osman Arifmemetov, Farhod Bazarov, Akim Bekirov, Remzi Bekirov, Servet Gaziev, Dzhemil Gafarov, Riza Izetov, Alim Kerimov, Seyran Murtaza, Yashar Muedinov, Erfan Osmanov, Seytveli Seytabdiev, Rustem Seytkhalilov, Ruslan Suleimanov, Shaban Umerov, Rustem Sheikhaliiev, Asan Yanikov and Raim Ayvazov.

2. The detainees in the latest so-called "Hizb ut-Tahrir case" – Riza Omerov, Enver Omerov, Aider Dzhepparov, Eskender Suleimanov, Ruslan Nagaev, Eldar Kantimirov, Ruslan Mesutov and Lenur Khalilov.

3. The detainees in the so-called Krasnogvardeyskoye "Hizb ut-Tahrir case" – Eskender Abdulhaniev, Rustem Emiruseinov, Arsen Abkhairov.

4. Single / other  so-called "cases" – Abduraman Abduveliev, Denys Kashuk, Halyna Dovhopola, Ivan Yatskin, Oleg Prykhodko, Rustem Abilev.

5. Detainees in the so-called "Noman Çelebicihan Battalion case"- Edem Kadyrov, Gulsum Khalilova.
