According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, 318 political prisoners and those prosecuted in criminal “cases” during the occupation of Crimea have been recorded, 216 of them are the representatives of the Crimean Tatar people. According to the CTRC, this category consists of 5 sections depending on the status of the persecuted:
– sentenced and serve terms in colonies (150, 99 are Crimean Tatars);
– have restrictions or on probation (36, 21 – Crimean Tatars);
– in detention facilities (44, 35 – Crimean Tatars);
– released (55, 34 – Crimean Tatars);
– persecuted (33, 27 – Crimean Tatars).
