More Searches in Russian Occupied Crimea

On Thursday, October 17, in the village Belokamenka, Bakhchysarai district of the occupied Crimea, Russian security forces conducted a search in the household of Nariman Ablyaev and detained him. According to his relatives, Nariman was released after interrogation. This is reported by “Crimean solidarity” organization.

"11.10 am. Relatives inform that Nariman Ablyaev has just called and notified that he was released after the interrogation. Nothing was seized after the operative-searching measures", the report said.

After the occupation of Crimea by the Russian Federation, searches in the households of the Crimean Tatars and pro-Ukrainian activists became a regular practice on the peninsula. According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, over the course of the first half of 2019, 73 searches were recorded in the occupied Crimea, 55 of which were carried out in Crimean Tatars' houses. In the second quarter of the current year, the number of searches decreased from 45 to 28 as compared to the first. However, compared with the first half of 2018, the number increased from 66 to 73.
