August 28, 2019

On Tuesday, the 26th August, the so-called Kyivv District Court of Simferopol rejected the complaint of the mother of the so-called Hizb ut-Tahrir case defendant Eskender Abdulhaniev regarding the refusal to grant a meeting with her son according to the Article 125 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation. The aforemention was reported by the Crimean solidarity media agency.

We remind that on the 14th of February 2019, Russian security forces conducted regular searches in the households of the Crimean Tatars in the village of Oktyabrskoe of Krasnohvardiisky district. Three men were detained and subsequently taken by the FSB. Criminal proceedings were instituted against them on suspicion of organizing and participating in the activities of the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization, which is prohibited in the Russian Federation.

On the 15th of February the so-called Kyev District Court of Simferopol arrested those detainees after a search of the Crimean Tatars – Eskender Abdulhaniev, Rustem Emiruseinov and Arsen Abkhairov – on suspicion of their membership in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization, which is prohibited in Russia.

On the 9th of July, the so-called Kyiv District Court of Simferopol extended the detention of those involved in the so-called Hizb ut-Tahrir case until the 13th of  September 2019.
