On Wednesday, August 21, the Sudak city “court” imposed a fine on a local activist Igor Savchenko in the amount of 20 thousand rubles for an attempt to allegedly hold a rally “Meganom SOS” demanding to stop the building of Cape Meganom (located between Sudak and the town of Koktebel). He was found guilty of holding an “unauthorized” event under Part 2 of Art. 20.2 Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. It is reported by the Crimean Human Rights Group.

The Crimean human rights group has at its disposal a relevant decision of Sudak city “court”.

"… Savchenko I.A. at the foot of Cape Meganom, Kapsel Bay, located on the territory of the municipality of Sudak city district, organized and held a public event in the form of a rally using sound-enhancing photo and video equipment" Meganom SOS ", the participants of which held above their heads pieces of white fabric and shouted the slogan “Defend Meganom,” without submitting, in the prescribed manner, notifications of a public event … ", the rule said.

Igor Savchenko commented the decision of the "court" on his Facebook page:

“Now we are all wondering together how we will be fined, since we again decide to clean our quail field. The mess is wild there, it hurts to look. And secondly: so decisive actions of the security forces against us are nothing but a reaction to the denunciation of “a good man.” Moreover, the denunciation is fundamentally false. The authorities believe (they have information, as it seems to them) that we were planning some decisive actions here, almost a revolution in the steppe. And that our group is acting somehow against the festival. How would they decide so if some "good man" didn’t suggest? And who benefits from this?" – wrote the activist.
