Dilyaver Gafarov, who is accused in the occupied Crimea of his membership in the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion, during the proceedings in the so-called Kirov District Court on the 20th of August claimed that he did not serve in the battalion. The aforementioned was reported by the Crimean human rights group.
It is noted that the so-called court dismissed the lawyer's petition to conduct an examination of the photographs aimed to invalidate the evidence of the previously convicted Sahandzhi and Kadyrov and prove these very photos forgery as well as to question the actions of the investigator who had seized the equipment.
"The defendant himself was also questioned, he denies his membership in the battalion. He said that he came to work in Kyivv, got a job as a hairdresser on the ATR TV channel. While he worked there, the owner of the channel Lenur Islyamov, according to Dilyaver Gafarov, suggested him to join the battalion, however, he refused. According to Gafarov, after that he left the TV channel and got a job in the Allo electronics store, moved his girlfriend to Kyiv and got married, but later decided to return to Crimea and consequently got a job in a store in Eski Qırım", – the message informs.
The investigation into this so-called case has been completed. The so-called judicial debate is scheduled for the 27th of August.
We remind that on the 30th of October, Russian security forces searched the house of Dilyaver Gafarov in the village of Zhemchuzhyna in Crimea's Kirov District. The security forces searched for weapons, but found nothing. After the search, Gafarov was allegedly taken to the Simferopol prison. Dilyaver Gafarov was detained on suspicion of a crime under Part 2 of Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Participation in an illegal armed formation, as well as participation in a foreign armed formation illegal according to the legislation of that state, for purposes contrary to the interests of the Russian Federation".
