In the first half of 2025, 23 searches were recorded, 12 in relation to the representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. In the same period of 2024, 51 cases were recorded, 34 against Crimean Tatars, and in 2023 – 37 cases, 29 in relation to Crimean Tatars.
This is stated in the Analysis of human rights violations in the occupied Crimea for the first half of 2025 by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center.
Thus, despite a slight decrease in the number of cases, the trend of persecution on political and religious grounds remains unchanged since the beginning of the occupation of the peninsula.
During searches, law enforcers often violate the rights of victims. In particular, there were cases of damage to property when entering houses, or conducting searches in the absence of the owner, or planting banned literature.
We would like to remind that on July 10 the Crimean Tatar Resource Center presented the Analysis of Human Rights Violations in the occupied Crimea for the first half of 2025.
