Now according to the Crimean Tatar Resource Centre, 206 political prisoners are held in places of detention, 132 of whom are members of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. According to the CTRC data, the number of political prisoners and persecuted by the occupation authorities is 334 people, 217 of them are representatives of the Crimean Tatar people. This category consists of 5 subcategories depending on the status of the persecuted:
– sentenced and serve terms in colonies (154, 97 are Crimean Tatars);
– have restrictions or on probation (40, 24 – Crimean Tatars);
– in detention facilities (52, 35 – Crimean Tatars);
– released (55, 34 – Crimean Tatars);
– persecuted (33, 27 – Crimean Tatars).
