155 Crimeans are suspected of collaboration

December 18, 2023

155 residents of the peninsula are suspected of collaboration. This was reported by the press service of the prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Aqyar (Sevastopol).

It is known that since March 2022, law enforcement agencies of the autonomy have launched 226 criminal proceedings under Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Collaborationism). The list is from that time because it was then that the article came into force.

“87 indictments have been sent to the court for consideration. Three verdicts were passed on public charges. We are talking about entrepreneurs who cooperate with the enemy within the framework of a defense order, as well as a Crimean senator who supported the actions of the aggressor and justified the war against Ukraine”,- the press service reports.

Among the suspects are Russian Crimean officials of various levels, law enforcement officers, judges, as well as entrepreneurs who cooperated with the Russian authorities of the occupied territory.

“When investigating such criminal proceedings, the prosecutor’s office of the autonomy takes into account the circumstances of the crime, the presence of intent, the public danger and the scale of the harm caused. Prosecutors approach each fact individually. Priority is given to those who voluntarily cooperate with the aggressor state, its occupation administration, security forces, etc.”,- the prosecutor’s office noted.

We remind you that the Crimean Tatar Resource Center systematically works in this direction and already has several ready-made products:
