110 new languages including Crimean Tatar will appear in Google Translator, which is the largest expansion in the history.
This is reported in the news article on the official webpage.
“Google Translator breaks down language barriers, helping people communicate and better understand the world around them. We’re constantly introducing the latest technology so that more people have access to this tool: in 2022, we added 24 new languages using the Zero-Shot Machine Translation approach, where a machine learning model learns to translate into another language even if it doesn’t see an example. We also announced the 1000 Languages initiative, which involves building artificial intelligence models that will support the world’s 1,000 most common languages,” the resource said in a statement.
Among the new languages that will be supported in Google translator: Crimean Tatar, Afar, Cantonese, Mensk, Nko, Punjabi, Tok Pisin and others.
