Occupants detained one of the founders of the Yalta cell of the Jehovah’s Witnesses organization

The Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the occupied Crimea claims that after the searches in Yalta on March 11, a man was detained, who is suspected of financing extremist activities. This was reported by the press service of the department.

“The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, based on the results of special measures carried out jointly with the FSB of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and the Directorate for Economic Security and Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Republic of Crimea, initiated a criminal case against one of the founders of the Yalta cell of the religious organization Jehovah's Witnesses. He is suspected of financing extremist activities (Part 1 of Article 282.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)”,- the message said.

We remind that on March 11, Russian security forces searched at least 9 houses of Crimeans in Yalta suspected of participating in the Jehovah's Witnesses religious organization banned in Russia. Four people were detained for interrogation.
