On Wednesday, March 10, the so-called head of the parliament of the occupied Crimea, Vladimir Konstantinov, said that the Russian Federation was preparing a lawsuit against Ukraine due to damage from the blocking of the North Crimean canal for the peninsula. This was reported by the Russian media agency TASS.
“We first have to prove in our Russian courts. <…> Then we will continue to appeal to international norms. The moment will come when we will be able to bring these claims in full. This is the beginning of a big claim work, because then we have an energy blockade, a transport blockade. These are billions that we were forced to spend and will spend more”,- said Konstantinov.
He called on the relevant committees to prepare information on the so-called damage from the blocking of the North Crimean canal for the environment, agriculture and enterprises of the Crimea, as well as for the health of the inhabitants of the peninsula.
