On Tuesday, February 23, during a debate on the situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine at the UN General Assembly, the Turkish mission to the UN announced that it would continue to support the Crimean Tatars in their desire to live freely in their homeland. This was reported by the department on its Twitter page.
Non-recognition of the illegal annexation of Crimea is fundamental for us. We will continue to support the Crimean Tatars in their just desire to live freely and safely in their ancestral land”,- the message says.
In addition, Turkey reiterated that it supports the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.
