On Thursday, January 14, the First Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction rejected an appeal against the order to extend the measure of restraint for political prisoner Ivan Yatskin, who is accused of alleged high treason in the form of espionage. He will remain in jail until February 16, 2021. Lawyer Nikolai Polozov reported about it via his Facebook page.
“With today's decision, the court of appeal upheld the decision of the Moscow City Court, leaving the defense's complaint unsatisfied”,- the statement said.
We remind that in early December 2019, Russian security forces in the occupied Crimea detained Ivan Yatskin, a resident of Simferopol, on charges of alleged high treason. Subsequently, the man was transferred to Moscow. He was arrested until March 16, 2020. Ivan Yatskin's lawyer, Nikolai Polozov, signed a non-disclosure agreement in the so-called case.
