Reference: Ukraine's lawsuit against Russia in the International Court of Justice was filed in January 2017. Ukraine demands to recognize Russia's actions in Donbas and in Crimea violating the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism and  the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.<\/em><\/p>\n

In April 2017, the Court decided to refuse to issue provisional measures in the part related to the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism, but obliged Russia to implement a number of provisional measures in the part of the case concerning the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination – to ensure accessibility to education in Crimea  in the Ukrainian language (the decision was taken unanimously) and refrain from restrictions on the activities of the representative body of the Crimean Tatars. The Court ordered Russia and Ukraine to refrain from actions that aggravate the dispute considered by the Court or complicate its decision.<\/em>
