In April, the Investigative Committee of the Investigation Department of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Crimea opened a criminal case. In 2015, the case was suspended. The "investigation" has failed to identify the persons involved in the murder of Reshat Ametov.<\/div>\n

In May 2017,  the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has assigned Ametov the title of Hero of Ukraine<\/div>\n

"The story of Reshat Ametov, the father of three kids, who died aged 39,  passed away for the sake of Ukraine and  Ukrainian Crimea. He was brave enough to protest against the 'green men'. A group of criminals kidnapped him in front of dozens of people and TV cameras. Two weeks later, his body was found with the signs of torture… but he did not give up.  His courage commands respect.
