On December 24, 2007, the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (EMRIP) was established, becoming an important part of the international system for protecting the rights of indigenous peoples. The main purpose of the ERIP is to provide the Human Rights Council with expert advice and consultation on the rights of indigenous peoples in accordance with the provisions of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.<\/p>\n

The tasks of the EMRIP are:<\/p>\n

To provide advice to UN Member States on achieving the objectives of the Declaration through the protection and implementation of the rights of indigenous peoples.
\nConducting research on issues such as:
\nThe application of key principles, in particular self-determination and free, prior, and informed consent.
\nAnalyzing best practices and challenges in ensuring the rights of indigenous peoples.
\nDeveloping recommendations for states and organizations at the legislative, practical, and programmatic levels.
\nThe Crimean Tatar Resource Center team has been actively cooperating with the Expert Mechanism since its establishment. During this cooperation, the CTRC has submitted 15 official documents, which have been taken into account in the EMRIP reports.<\/p>\n

CTRC experts regularly participate in EMRIP sessions, sharing their experience and data on violations of the rights of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people in the occupied territories of Crimea. This information is a valuable resource for the international community in analyzing issues related to the rights of indigenous peoples and formulating recommendations for their resolution.<\/p><\/div>\n

The CTRC’s participation in the Expert Mechanism is an important step in protecting the rights of the Crimean Tatar people at the international level. Through this cooperation, the CTRC helps to draw attention to the problems of Crimea and works to develop solutions to overcome them.<\/p>\n

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center continues to cooperate with the EMRIP, providing factual data and promoting justice for indigenous peoples around the world.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
