More than two years ago, on December 27, 2023, searches were conducted in the houses of former military servicemen Sergey Likhomanov and Ruslan Cherny-Shvets in occupied Crimea. After the searches, both were detained. At the time of the investigation, three minor children were in Sergey’s apartment. Despite this, he was taken away by FSB officers to an unknown destination without providing any information to his family.<\/p>\n
The occupying security forces concealed the whereabouts of the detainees for a month and a half. It later became known that Sergey was being held in the Akyar (Sevastopol) pre-trial detention center, and later he was transferred to pre-trial detention center No. 8 in Akmesdzhit (Simferopol), where he was held in a solitary confinement cell. On May 15, 2024, the Gagarin District \u201cCourt\u201d of Akyar found Sergey Likhomanov guilty under \u201cB\u201d of Part 3 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and illegally sentenced him to 5 years in a strict regime colony and a fine of 50,000 rubles, applying Article 64 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation in the case of \u201chigh treason.\u201d<\/p>\n
Later, Russian security forces opened another criminal case against him under Article 275, Part 1 of Article 30, and Part 2, Section B of Article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code, accusing him of allegedly preparing an explosion on the railway bridge across the Belbek River. On October 8, 2025, he was illegally convicted for the second time, this time to 15 years in prison and a fine of 50,000 rubles. According to information received by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, Sergey Likhomanov was transferred to Taganrog Pre-Trial Detention Center No. 2 to serve his sentence.
\nThis story is yet another example of persecution and human rights violations on the temporarily occupied peninsula.
