United Nations Day is celebrated every year on October 24, the day the
\nUN Charter came into force in 1945. This day is intended to remind the
\nworld of the importance of international cooperation in maintaining
\npeace, security and human rights. The UN is central to addressing
\nglobal issues such as poverty alleviation, climate change,
\npeacekeeping operations, and human rights.<\/p>\n
The Crimean Tatar Resource Center (CTRC), in turn, systematically
\ncooperates with the UN. We actively inform the international community
\nabout human rights violations in the occupied Crimea, about political
\nprisoners illegally detained by the Russian authorities, as well as
\nabout the consequences of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war.<\/p>\n
The CTRC provides evidence and facts of violations of the rights of
\nCrimean Tatars and Ukrainians, actively participates in international
\ndiscussions and promotes attention to these issues at the global level
\nthrough cooperation with various UN entities. A separate focus of
\ncooperation with the UN for the CTRC is the promotion and protection
\nof the rights of indigenous peoples, not only in Ukraine but also
\nglobally.<\/p>\n
