According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, during the period of occupation of Crimea, there have been recorded:<\/p>\n
– 356 political prisoners and those prosecuted in criminal cases, 222 of them are representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people;<\/p>\n
– 60 dead, 28 of whom were representatives of the Crimean Tatar people;<\/p>\n
– 24 victims of enforced disappearances whose fate is still unknown, 18 of whom are representatives of the Crimean Tatar people.<\/p>\n
In addition, there are thousands of administrative \u201ccases\u201d against the pro-Ukrainian population on the peninsula, including alleged violations of public order, organization of spontaneous rallies and discrediting the armed forces of the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n
The Russian Federation abuses its legislation by using the following articles of the Russian Criminal Code to prosecute Ukrainian citizens:<\/p>\n
– Art. 205.5 \u201cOrganization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation in the activities of such an organization\u201d (Hizb ut-Tahrir case);<\/p>\n
– Art. 212 \u201cMass riots\u201d (Case of February 26);<\/p>\n
– Art. 208 \u201cOrganization of an illegal armed formation or participation in it, as well as participation in an armed conflict or hostilities for purposes contrary to the interests of the Russian Federation\u201d (Noman Chelebidzhikhan battalion case);<\/p>\n
– Art. 282.2 \u201cOrganization of activities of an extremist organization\u201d and 282.3 \u201cFinancing of extremist activities\u201d (Jehovah’s Witnesses case);<\/p>\n
– Art. 280 \u201cPublic calls for extremist activities\u201d;<\/p>\n
– Art. 275.1 \u201cCooperation on a confidential basis with a foreign state, international or foreign organization\u201d;<\/p>\n
– Art. 276 \u201cEspionage\u201d;<\/p>\n
– Art. 275 \u201cHigh treason\u201d;<\/p>\n
– Art. 205 \u201cTerrorist act\u201d;<\/p>\n
