The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted as a basis the draft law No 11410 on stripping of state awards of persons recognised as traitors to Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The bill was supported by 341 people’s deputies in the first reading.<\/p>\n

We would like to remind that the lawyers of the Crimean Tatar Resource Centre actively worked in this direction<\/a>. For the entire period of existence of the award and the title Hero of Ukraine, they have been awarded to more than 700 persons, 9 Crimeans were among them.<\/p>\n

With the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war, some bearers of this, without exaggeration, the most important title, to a great regret showed themselves not at all from the heroic side. Thus, Hero of Ukraine Borys Deich, who received the title on 24 August 2013, supported the occupation of Crimea and took part in the fake \u2018referendum\u2019 on 16 March 2014. Hero of Ukraine Fevzi Yakubov (received the title on 4 October 2004) in 2015 urged Crimean Tatar youth not to participate in organisations and events against the Russian occupation of Crimea. Hero of Ukraine Mykola Bagrov (received the title on 21 August 2007) welcomed the occupation of Crimea and thanked President Putin for the occupation of the peninsula.<\/p>\n

These bearers of the title of Hero of Ukraine have already passed away, but among Crimeans there are still Heroes of Ukraine, who still have this highest state award of Ukraine and at the same time help the occupants to destroy Ukraine and destroy Ukrainians. In particular, we are talking about Alexander Batalin, who received the title of Hero of Ukraine on 24 August 2012. Since 12 June 2014, he became a member of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Crimea, and a member of the United Russia party, and now the Fiolent plant, which he has been managing for many years, provides the production of certain products for the Russian military industry.<\/p>\n

Such collaborative activities, in our opinion, are not compatible with the highest state award of Ukraine, but in the list of sanctions that were indefinitely applied to Batalin in May 2018, as it turned out, there are no sanctions in the form of deprivation of his state awards!<\/p>\n

At the same time, Ukraine has a mechanism of depriving a person of state awards by applying sanctions to him in accordance with the Law of Ukraine \u2018On Sanctions\u2019. Thus, by the decision of the National Security and Defence Council of 18.06.2021 another Crimean collaborator Mykola Boyko was deprived of state awards of Ukraine, but sanctions were applied to him only for 3 years, that is, after 2024 he will again become a Hero of Ukraine!<\/p>\n

Of course, this cannot be allowed, so the CTRC in its written appeals proposed to amend the decision of the National Security Council of 02.05.2018 and 18.06.2021 and indefinitely apply sanctions against Batalin Alexander Sergeevich and Boyko Mykola Konstantinovich in the form of deprivation of state awards of Ukraine!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
