{"id":261146,"date":"2024-08-09T16:33:47","date_gmt":"2024-08-09T13:33:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ctrcenter.org\/experts-discuss-mechanisms-for-checking-people-living-in-the-occupied-territories-of-ukraine"},"modified":"2024-08-28T14:59:05","modified_gmt":"2024-08-28T11:59:05","slug":"experts-discuss-mechanisms-for-checking-people-living-in-the-occupied-territories-of-ukraine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ctrcenter.org\/en\/experts-discuss-mechanisms-for-checking-people-living-in-the-occupied-territories-of-ukraine","title":{"rendered":"Experts discuss mechanisms for checking people living in the occupied territories of Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>On Thursday, 8 August, a meeting was held at the Mission of President of Ukraine in Crimea to discuss key approaches to the principles and procedures for conducting checks on people living in the occupied territories of Ukraine.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The event was attended by the Permanent Representative Tamila Tasheva, Deputy Permanent Representatives Olya Kurishko and Denis Chistikov, members of the Expert Council at the Mission of President\u00a0 and working groups of the Crimean Platform Expert Network, in particular, the Chairman of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Centre, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, coordinator of the working group \u2018Restoration of the rights of indigenous peoples of Ukraine &#8211; as a tool for deoccupation of Crimea\u2019 Eskender Bariiev and lawyer of the CTRC Liudmyla Korotkikh.<span class=\"im\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span class=\"im\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ctrcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/photo_2024-08-09-16.32.52.jpeg\" \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ctrcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/photo_2024-08-09-16.32.51.jpeg\" \/><\/div>\n<div><span class=\"im\"><br \/>\nThose present discussed possible mechanisms of checks on people living in the occupied territories of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p><\/span>\u2018In fact, we should take into account the degree of collation of each person in a separate situation. How, for example, can we compare an official or serviceman who took an oath to Ukraine and defected to the side of the occupier and a doctor who took the Hippocratic Oath and continues to work and provide medical assistance to Ukrainians in the occupied territories? What should be the actions? How can this be assessed?\u2019 &#8211; Eskender Bariiev noted.<\/p>\n<p>According to the expert, so far all these questions remain open.
