After the occupation of Crimea by the Russian Federation, disappearances, kidnappings and murders have become a regular practice. According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Centre, 60 murdered have been recorded during the period of occupation of Crimea, 28 of whom are the representatives of the Crimean Tatar people<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This category is divided into:<\/p>\n

Victims of political repressions (4, 3 are Crimean Tatars);<\/p>\n

Victims of discrimination (13, 11 – Crimean Tatars);<\/p>\n

Victims of terror (30, 8 – Crimean Tatars);<\/p>\n

Victims of police abuse (13, 6 Crimean Tatars).<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the Kremlin-controlled de facto Crimean authorities create only the appearance of investigating these cases, despite the fact that in accordance with UNGA Resolution A\/RES\/71\/205 Russia is labelled an occupying state and is responsible for the observance of human rights on this territory.<\/p>\n

The staff and experts of the CTRC have repeatedly informed the international community about these blatant facts of human rights violations on the international platforms such as UN, OSCE and PACE.<\/p>\n

We condemn the arrests, detentions, abductions and killings of people, which are used in Crimea as a way to pressure and intimidate the indigenous Crimean Tatar people and pro-Ukrainian activists.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
