Convicted to 12 years of imprisonment Crimean political prisoner Eskender Abdulhaniev regularly extended his stay in the punishment cell in the penal colony \u2116 41 in Yugra, Kemerovo region.<\/p>\n

This is reported by “Crimean Solidarity”, citing the lawyer.<\/p>\n

In total, Abdulhaniev has spent five months continuously in the isolation ward already, except for five days from May 31 to June 4, when he was transferred to a cell-type facility (CTF).<\/p>\n

“The political prisoner learned on May 16 that he would not be returned to the detachment and would in fact be kept in unbearable conditions as long as necessary. Then in the building of the punishment cell was held a commission with the participation of the acting head of the colony Dmitry Zhilyakov, deputy head for security and operational work Andrey Sidorov, other senior officials, a doctor and a psychologist”, – stated in the message of the organization.<\/p>\n

The occupiers announced that Abdulhaniev was a “persistent offender prone to constant violations.” He was put on the register because of discipline violations and announced that he would be transferred to strict detention conditions.<\/p>\n

On May 17, Abdulhaniev was told that he would be kept in a CTF for three months due to “constant violations”.<\/p>\n

Eskender admitted that he would not contest the violations, which put him in the punishment cells and then in CTF. He said that previously he was held in cells for four convicts.<\/p><\/div>\n

\u00a0And he’s been in the isolation cell longer than anyone else he was with in that cell.
\nEskender Abdulhaniev emphasized that he considers this a violation, as there are “no solitary cells in IK-41”.<\/p>\n

According to the report, he also spoke about unsatisfactory conditions of detention.<\/p>\n

“There is no ventilation in the cell, an open window does not save the situation. In hot weather, the cell is very hot and stuffy. I am on the second floor, but the ground floor is damp. And if you open the window at night, mosquitoes fly in. I believe that the building, where the isolation cell and CTF are located, is not designed for living,” – said the political prisoner.<\/p>\n

In addition, as Crimean Solidarity reports, Abdulhaniev complained about the quality of water. Drinking water can only be drawn from the tap, but it is rusty and sand remains at the bottom.<\/p>\n

“I pointed out the presence of only such water to the prosecutor, who came on the complaint of my representative. He then explained that this water had been sent for analysis before and it complied with sanitary norms,” -Eskender said.<\/p>\n

He added that a month ago he wrote a statement to the administration that he wanted to meet with the imam and asked for the contacts of the Kemerovo Oblast Human Rights Ombudsman. Abdulhaniev has not received any response.<\/p><\/div>\n

According to his lawyers, the prison administration does not allow Eskender to see his family, go for walks, receive packages and financial assistance from relatives.
\nHe is also limited in the right to make phone calls.<\/p>\n

We would like to remind that \u00a0on November 3, 2020 Eskender Abdulhaniev was sentenced by the occupation court to 12 years in prison. In November last year, the Krasnogvardeysk district court of Crimea refused Abdulhaniev in the transfer from the Vladimir prison to the colony and to count the term that the Crimean Tatar spent in prison.
