On Monday, June 24, on the first day of the III International Forum of the Crimean Platform Expert Network, a closed round table “Crimean Platform: synergy of the state and expert community in the new realities” was held.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by representatives of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, SNBO, independent experts, representatives of international think tanks, non-governmental organizations, representatives of the diplomatic corps of the countries-participants of the International Crimea Platform and the academic community.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the roundtable was to strengthen cooperation between government authorities and the expert community, as well as to identify areas where expert input can be most effective in achieving Ukraine’s victory in the war unleashed by the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n

In particular, Eskender Bariiev, Chairman of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, coordinator of the working group “Restoration of the rights of indigenous peoples of Ukraine – as a tool for deoccupation of Crimea” joined the roundtable.<\/p><\/div>\n

He described the activities of the working group.<\/p>\n

“The participants of the working group and the CTRC were among the initiators of the First Global Summit of Indigenous Peacebuilders. A global network was created, which includes representatives of indigenous peoples from different regions<\/p><\/div>\n

\u00a0This network met with representatives of the UN Peacebuilding Department and submitted an appeal to the UN General Assembly to make a decision on the creation of 10 years of indigenous peacebuilders,” – Bariiev said.<\/div>\n

Eskender Bariiev drew attention to the fact that the main priorities of the state today are:<\/p>\n

Restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity;<\/p>\n

Attraction of technical, financial, humanitarian support;<\/p>\n

Peace formula from Ukraine;<\/p>\n

Distribution of analytical content in the world’s famous media.<\/p>\n

\n

“When we talk about the peace formula, it is very important that representatives of indigenous peoples of Ukraine take part in the formation of this formula and in the negotiation processes. In fact, indigenous peoples of other countries have influence on their states and thus through indigenous peoples we can attract these states to Ukraine’s peace formula,” he explained.<\/p>\n

According to Bariiev, the CTRC and the working group are systematically working on expanding the awareness of Ukraine’s friends and therefore, in addition to Ukrainian and English, Arabic and Turkish pages of the International Movement #LIBERATECRIMEA have already been created to inform a larger audience.<\/p>\n

“For the successful work of the Crimea Platform Expert Network, we must be, among other things, self-critical. Unfortunately, from the side of the Ukrainian authorities there are no orders to the CP EN and, accordingly, the network can not prepare the necessary analytical materials that would be useful for the Ukrainian state and for the international community”, – he explained.<\/p>\n

The expert emphasized that in all the authorities of Ukraine, in whose competence are the issues of deoccupation and reintegration of Crimea, there are no civil servants or departments or divisions that would deal with these issues and communicate with the network.<\/p><\/div>\n

“There is no effective advocacy work with quality analytical material, in which the Ukrainian state would be interested, in order to use in the future in its activities. The Crimea Platform Expert Network should influence the formation of state and international policy on the deoccupation and reintegration of Crimea”, – he emphasized.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
