Lawyers of the political prisoner Tofik Abdulgaziev are trying to release him from prison because of tuberculosis. This is reported by “Crimean Solidarity”.<\/p>\n

This disease falls under the list of diseases that prevent serving a term in correctional facilities.<\/p>\n

According to Abdulgaziev’s wife, her husband needs care and will not be able to treat on his own.<\/p>\n

“We are all worried about him. With such a diagnosis Tofik needs intensive treatment, care and nutrition, but this is unlikely to be possible in prison conditions. All I know about his state of health is that it is satisfactory. He is lying in the hospital in worse conditions than in the intensive care unit”, – said the woman.<\/p>\n

We will remind that on March 27, 2019 Russian security forces in the occupied Crimea conducted mass searches in 26 houses of the Crimean Tatars. Some activists were seized literature, which, according to Crimean Solidarity, the security forces planted themselves. In addition to books and brochures, people were confiscated phones, tablets, laptops and passports. The law enforcers behaved rudely.
\nIt is reported that they applied physical force against the detainees. They entered the houses with their shoes on.<\/p>\n

Lawyers, who came to the place of searches, were not allowed to the defendants. As a result, 20 people were detained, who are suspected of involvement in the organization “Hizb ut-Tahrir” banned in the Russian Federation. On March 28, three more Crimean Tatar activists were detained and their homes were searched in their absence. On March 27-28, the occupation court arrested all 23 Crimean Tatar activists detained after the searches. They were elected a measure of restraint in the form of detention. Subsequently, all the defendants in the “case” were repeatedly extended their term of arrest.<\/p>\n

On March 22, 2024 Tofik Abdulgaziev was delivered in critical condition to the hospital of the specialized tuberculosis hospital \u2116 3 of the State Penitentiary Service of the Federal Penitentiary Service in Chelyabinsk. It is known that earlier his lawyer informed his relatives that Abdulgaziev had lost \u00a015 kilograms of weight, complained of pain in the joints of his hands and legs. In addition, it became difficult for him to clench and unclench his fingers, and due to acute pain in his heel he could not step on his foot, so he could not move normally and go for a walk.<\/p>\n

On April 15, 2024, according to the published document, Abdulgaziev’s main diagnosis was disseminated pulmonary tuberculosis. Related diagnoses are bilateral pneumonia and left-sided omental hydrothorax, as well as moderate anemia and connective tissue dysplasia syndrome.<\/p><\/div>\n
